“Oh, you’ve redecorated! I don’t like it.”-Eleventh Doctor

As they say, you can never judge a book by its cover. While this is a nice mentality to carry, when it comes to your home, it can often stay just that. Luckily, this is a very fixable solution, and for the purposes of today’s post, we’ll be breaking down all of the ways you can improve your home’s visual appeal and give it the facelift it needs.

Maybe you’re long overdue for a renovation project facelift or maybe it’s just a few little things you need to do. Now we’re not telling you to tear it all down and start from square 1 unless you absolutely need to, but sometimes even the simplest thing can go a long way.

Here are a few ideas for your next project on a home facelift:

Take Care Of The Yard: Let’s get the obvious one out of the way first. Your house might be great, but it could be your yard that’s holding you back. Thankfully, this is a very fixable solution. Keep the grass cut, trim the hedges, pick up any loose sticks or debris and more importantly, take care of your lawn.

A New Coat Of Paint: Sometimes all you need to do to give your place a new appeal is to add a fresh coat of paint. Literally! Head down to the home improvement store, buy a few supplies and pick out the color that best suits your home.

Re-Arranged: Too much space in one area? Too much clutter? Maybe a little re-arrangement is in order. If you really want to go the extra mile, add a little feng shui to your world.  Or if there’s too much stuff in your house, maybe it’s time for a yard sale, or a trip to the local Goodwill.

Stop and Smell The Flowers: Maybe a few fresh flowers just to give your yard that extra little pop. You could also add a tree, a garden or even a birdfeeder or two. Hey, might as well turn your project into a hobby.

Turn The Patio Into Your Space: Maybe you want to make the patio or the deck a focal point. Add a few lights or plants, get a furniture set, you can even add a grill to the mix. This is perfect for the warmer months that we’re heading into (finally).

Complete Overhaul: While we don’t necessarily advocate this option, as it is the most costly, sometimes there’s no way around it. Your home could just need a remodel altogether. So if it’s within your budget, by all means, replace the floor, get a new door or two, re-shingle the roof, etc.

Like we said, sometimes the biggest thing you can do is the littlest thing you can do. So go ahead, gather up some supplies, find a few friends and get started today. Your home (and maybe your neighbors) will thank you.
